Extraction refers to the process by which active substances such as cannabinoids or terpenes are extracted from the cannabis plant through a physical or chemical treatment. The result is also called an extract.

More about extraction

In practice, extraction is a method of isolating the desired components from the plant, typically using solvents (such as CO₂, ethanol or butane) or via solvent-free methods such as heat, pressure or water (e.g. raisin or ice water hash). The aim is to create a concentrated form that preserves cannabinoids and can be used in everything from oil and wax to creams and edibles.
