Strain
Strain is a widely used term in cannabis terminology for a specific variant or variety of cannabis. Different strains can have different genetic characteristics and vary in, among other things, appearance, aroma, and the composition of cannabinoids and terpenes.

Strains in cannabis
Cannabis strains arise through the plant's genetics and breeding. By crossing different cannabis plants, specific traits can be passed on to new generations, which over time has resulted in a large number of named strains.
Strains are often described as Indica, Sativa, or Hybrid. However, many modern strains are genetic crosses, and these terms therefore do not necessarily tell the whole story about the individual plant.
Different strains can, among other things, vary in their cannabinoid and terpene profile. This means that the amount and ratio of, for example, CBD, THC, and THCA can vary, just as different terpenes can contribute to the plant's characteristic aromatic profile.
Strain, therefore, primarily describes a specific genetic variant of cannabis and not a specific product form. The same strain can, for example, appear as flower, buds, or as raw material for other cannabis products.
